About Harwood Services

My name is Joe Harwood, and when I started my painting business in 1971, I wanted to do more than just pay my way through college. My goal was to provide the highest quality workmanship and service that I could -- not only to differentiate the company from the rest of the pack, but because it's the right way to run a business.

In the 70s and 80s I concentrated on the residential market, providing high-end interior and exterior services. In the late 80s, I realized that there was a wider market for our services, and in 1989 I expanded the business. Harwood Services now includes the Residential Services Division and the Commercial Services Division

It's been a good business, and we've done lots of excellent work over the years. Here are a few of our accomplishments

  • 2006 Painting Company of the Year Award from "The Reader" Magazine

Office Held

  • 2006 Nebraska / Iowa Chapter of ASID Board of Directors (Membership Director)

  • 2007-2009 Nebarska / Iowa Chapter of ASID Board of Directors (Financial Director)

Community Services

  • Participated in the 1999 remodeling of the Governor's Mansion in Lincoln, Nebraska.

  • Active in the Omaha Designer Showhouse from 1981 through 2005 -- a benefit for the Omaha Symphony.

  • Active in the Omaha Designer Showhouse 2008 -- a benefit for several non-profit groups.

  • Active in Brush Up Nebraska -- a project that paints homes for the disadvantaged.

  • Active in several community fund raising and volunteer projects with ASID

  • 2006 and 2007 - Participated in the remodeling of the Friendship House - daycare center for the elderly and disabled

We have a fully approved and operating 10,000 square foot shop and spray booth for shop finishing of field installed items. Fork lift capabilities, bondable warehouse, and monitored secuirty.
